Elder Meas from Cambodia Arrived, Another Baptism Interview

This week I hit a milestone. I have been declared an Honorary Asian by Elder Meas! This week went by so fast and was probably one of the fastest in my mission so far. Tuesday we picked Elder Meas up from the mission office in South Kensington, Wednesday I had a baptismal interview in another area, Thursday was packed with appointments, Friday was similar, Saturday we play football, and Sunday was a special church meeting in Watford.

I am so happy to be with Elder Meas now! A little bit about him: he is from Cambodia, but has also lived in Thailand and this is where me met missionaries just two years ago himself. He speaks Cambodian and Thai and makes really good stir fry. He has showed me how to make it and last night it was my turn to make it, and he said it turned out perfect! I somehow managed to make perfect rice and the stir fry was perfect as well. This is how I got declared an honorary Asian.

Wednesday I got the privilege to interview a 22 year old guy named Deepak for baptism. I always love baptismal interviews because I get to hear about the persons life and how they found the church, and about all the positive impacts it has made on their life. For Deepak, he was battling Leukaemia when we first met missionaries just late last year. He has found so much peace and direction from what he has learned and is excited for his baptism this Saturday.

Our special meeting in Watford yesterday for church is Stake Conference, where all the local congregations (called wards) meet together. This happens twice a year. One of the general authorities that looks over all of Europe came to speak as well.

All of this excitement has made the week blow by. I can't believe how fast the time is going and that I am almost gone one year.

Cheers!
