Time Is Going By To Fast. Diverse London.

These weeks are going by so fast! We had a busy week last week and I am still learning a lot. Right now I am on a bus going through Hackney coming back from Westfield mall in Stratford. I have loved getting to see more of London as I get to know my area a bit better.

Something I have loved about London is how diverse it is. Though it is very limited, I find someone to talk with in Spanish almost every day. Between me and the five other missionaries that cover our part of North London, we have English, Spanish, Portugese, French, and Italian covered. We teach everyone from the "I've lived here my whole life" Englishman to the businessman from Vietnam. Our congregation we attend has families from all over as well including (lots of) America, Brazil, Nigeria, Iran, Turkey, and England of course.

One of the things I have liked studying about this week is actually family history. One of our investigators is really interested in family history and it sparked my interest as to how it fits into what we teach. A passage from the book of Malachi from the Old Testament stood out to me: "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse" (Malachi 4:5-6). We believe that Elijah really did return and appear to Joseph Smith to restore the special authority to bind families together for eternity- including those that have passed on before us. Family history becomes vitally important so that our ancestors can have the opportunity to receive all the blessings that we can receive.

This week we have our time in the office tomorrow and on Friday I get to go on an exchange with Elder Santiago! It's going to go fast!

Cheers!
